Business Development And Its Relationship To Ict Information Technology Essay

Business Development And Its Relationship To Ict Information Technology Essay From time to time, Information and Communication Technology has made a great impact in contributing to the business development and improvement that enables a business to become more efficient, beneficial and also it also provide secure jobs. Besides, Information and Communication Technology has assist in effective communication and also co-operation between a company and its clients. Unlike the old days, when Information and Communication Technology has not been widely introduced and used into the society, business people are unable to speed up their work and also less efficient. In the globalizing technology society today, Information and Communication Technology is used in marketing, by helping companies to reach new markets and to offer customers to purchase goods and services at anytime they need, and almost all the time, at a reduced cost and also enhancing the level of customer service by using website. Business people also use e-mails to contact their clients and also to market their products and services directly to their potential customers and also to stay in contact with many customers and suppliers. In fact, by using the advanced marketing strategies, it will increase the effectiveness in communication and is able to access information through their websites, so that customers are able to gain information and to increase their business needs. Before the society started using Information and Communication Technology, business people uses pamphlets, banners and etc. to market their products. Without Information and Communication Technology, business men have difficulties staying in contact with their customers and hardly reach to other potential customers and suppliers. On the other hand, finance has also developed in the Information and Communication and Technology. Practically almost all companies use software program in business society today. In example, Sage and Excel are companies that manage other companies accounts and monitor at the financial information from time to time. These companies help to respond to the customers by offering discounts and also help in improving the management of their finances. With the help of these advanced technologies, many companies are relief for their accounts are managed by a company that alters at almost 24 hours. In the 80s, when Information and Communication Technology has not even exist, accountants have to spend wee hours checking the accounts in their offices or even at home in order not to make any mistakes in the finances. Even so, without these advanced technologies in the 80s, accountants had to record and file the companies account in files and papers and often, accountants had difficulties in fin ding the old records when needed. However, Information and Communication Technology has helped many accountants in saving companies data in the database which is easier to locate when the files are needed. In the business society, companies often need their staffs to be away from their desk and office to attend meetings and meeting clients at almost everywhere. From this aspects, many employers demand for an adjustable working systems which is accessible to the computer. Now that the society is so dependable in Information and Communication Technology, business people can work out of their office with laptops, PDA and smart phone. During the time when Information and Communication Technology has not exist, staffs and business people can only access into customers and suppliers needs and information from files in the office only and this could not help to satisfy a customer needs in any changes. In an office that have two or more computers creates a network, which allows the resources like printers, internet access, files and information to be share among colleagues and staffs can also access into the information and files at home to remote working systems that supports changing busines s needs. Back when the Information and Communication Technologies had not exist, staffs and business people can only access to resources like files or printers one thing at a time. This will delay ones work speed. Moreover, in the developing 21st century today, Information and Communication Technology is widely used in social media. The society today connects among themselves via advanced technology and social network like Facebook and Twitter, networks that helps in spreading messages faster and in simpler ways. Besides, it is essential that businesses are dominated by Facebook and Twitter which are used in business line that provides better solution for customers because business people and customers tend to communicate more in two-way communication instead of one-way communication. Business people also use social media to market their products, provides information about their products and deliver application to their user base towards the society today who uses and connects into social network every day. Studies show that the society today connects themselves into the social media two times more than before. Hence, business people who want to market their products connect themselves to soc ial network like e-Collaboration, Facebook and Twitter and post them online to market their products for a wider coverage. Before Information and Communication Technology was introduce into the society, where there werent any advanced social network like Facebook and Twitter, business people cannot market their products into a wider coverage of the society and resulting low marketing sales and lesser the profit for the company. Back then, business wasnt as developed as how it is for now. Also, many companies today are very dependable on the Information and Communication Technologies in managing and monitoring customers and clients. Many companies use advanced technologies like Customer Relationship Software(CRS) to manage their existing clients and also generate potential clients from there. Companies that use Customer Relationship Software have many data recorded in their database to keep track with customers, send messages and promotion to the potential clients. During the time when Information and Communication Technology hadnt been brought up, customers data and records are recorded in papers and files, which has never made it easy for business people to keep track with the potential customers. Without the technologies before, things werent any easier for business people. In addition, the impact of Information and Communication Technology in business is great and has influenced and change many things in many ways. In example, Information and Communication Technology is used in e-Business in order to reduce the transaction costs and also to widen the marketing coverage, as well as to increase the productivity and speed of doing business. Trinidad and Tobago are the examples of how the technologies has helped in e-Business in modernizing the private sector, to aim in encouraging e-Business For example, where the impact of ICT in Business like the E-business as the use of ICT in business to reduce transaction costs, to broaden market reach, and to increase the productivity and speed of doing business. E-business is a catalyst for modernizing the private sector in general, such as Trinidad and Tobago, seek to encourage e-business with a view to increase demand for domestically produced ICT products. To this end, the government of Trinidad and Tobago plans to co-develop, with private sector, an integrated e-business application for local companies to conduct online sales. Furthermore, the government has offered to help identify comparative advantages for local e-business and will collaborate in the development of skillnet, a service that provides recruitment, learning and career information. It is the close alignment between ICT and business processes that can provide competitive advantage to organizations and produce high quality products and services at lower cost, resulting in a strategic advantage(McCabe, 2003; Nevens, 2002). In general, there are two types of enterprise applications that support business processes example, logistics,CRM, etc and applications that directly implement business processes like example, electronic banking, mobile telephony, airline e-tickets and so on. For the first type of enterprise applications, it is possible to gain competitive advantage by combining ICT with unique company culture and knowledge. This unique combination enables the company to function effectively and utilize key assets such as organizational knowledge and culture. The second type type of enterprise application provides a service or product to customers and its timely deployment and unique features can result in competitive advantage. Due to the impact of ICT on the main factors influencing the way of doing business abroad, manifold changes are taking place within the organizational structures of the economy. The analysis below examines the consequences of these changes for three ares; the internal organization of companies, the organization of markets, i.e. the relationship between companies and its customers, and the organizational forms of co-operation between different companies. This classification is useful, since the fiscal analysis will refer to these three categories. ICT also serve as a platform for the business activities of a company, for example if the supply of information and services constitute its main business activities. Moreover, companies may market ICT and the Internet itself, example, if they provide memory capacity or websites, as an Internet Services Provider (ISP). Using ICT tools, such as video-conferencing or e-mail, decisions which are relevant to the company can be taken either in dif ferent locations or at the same time in different places. In addition, the management of a company may often be situated elsewhere and not in the company itself. As link between different companies can be created using ICT, it is possible to cooperate internationally without needing to centralize all activities in one location. Thus, activities are no longer dependent on geographical distances Information and Communication Technology has expended so great in business and it was so successfully developed especially in telecommunication, and it has impacted so many people in good aspects. Maxis and Digi are examples of how Information and Communication Technology has successfully developed in telecommunication. Information and Communication Technology has contributed as a communication tool and aided in keeping everyone in contact in just a key button away even though the distance is very far away. In this case, it is known that Digi uses many communication tools in keeping track with its customers especially via Facebook in Malaysia. Besides, Information and Communication Technology has helped telecommunication in keeping track with business partners and people via video conferencing in business plans, and research shows that it is two times more of people communicate via face-to-face in various forms. Moreover, business people need not travel far to attend a meeting instea d they can sit in their office and attend the meeting via video conferencing. However, there are also negative impacts of Information and Communication Technology on business sectors in telecommunication. People tend to abuse the usage of Information and Communication Technology that has expended so great to assist the society in a different form while some people uses Information and Communication Technology in a way which it is not created for. Some people uses the advance in telecommunication in Information and Communication Technology to start a crime, such as kidnapping and also blackmailing someone else. It has been shown in research that telecommunication usage is abused with other way especially in identity stealing. Business Development and its relationship to ICT? Business Development is the process of improvement that enables a business to become more efficient, profitable, and thereby creating or safeguarding jobs. Business development therefore does not only concern marketing and sales departments, but all parts of a business which constitute its value chain and requires effective communication and co-operation within a company. Over the last 20 years ICT has increasingly been identified as a major contributor to the process of business development and improvement and it has been identified that ICT à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦. is responsible for around half of productivity growth in modern economies. It drives improved efficiency and better services and products across the entirety of the private and the public sectors. (Viviane Reding, Member of the European Commission responsible for Information Society). What has been the impact of ICT on Business? The use of ICT and technology has affected every aspect of business, transforming not only the way that business is conducted but also creating new business sectors and jobs. The creation of companies like Google and e-Bay which did not exist 10 years ago, was only made possible by advances in technology and the changes that this has created in the way that people behave (currently Google is valued at  £44billion Source BBC 5th June 05). Some examples of the nature of this change include:

Polonius and Laertes Assist Hamlet :: Essays Papers

Polonius and Laertes Assist Hamlet 1. In his play, Hamlet, William Shakespeare uses various foils to make the play more complex. These foils involve numerous characters that help to develop different relationships and conflicts. Without these foils, the relationships and conflicts would not happen, and the play could not develop. They help us to understand Hamlet[']s actions and bring diversity to the play. Polonius and Laertes are the main foils for Hamlet. Polonius shows how irrational Hamlet thinks, and Laertes shows that Hamlet must pay for his actions, even if he is royalty. This plot and conflict develop from the similarities and differences between Hamlet and the foils. 2. Why are foils required to understand and develop the play? A foil is a minor character used to help develop or understand a major character. The foil must have some similarities with the major character in order to create a link with him. A foil must also be different in order to show or distinguish something about the major character. The foil does not always have an active role. Sometimes the foil is just someone for the major character to talk to. This allows his ideas to come through to the audience without a narrator; therefore, the foil is a kind of prop to help develop the role of the major character. Without a foil, there is no one to help develop or understand the major character, [;] thus his ideas cannot be revealed to the audience. Polonius was an important foil for Hamlet. 3. Polonius and Hamlet were similar in that they both loved Ophelia and tried to protect her. While Polonius died trying, Hamlet encouraged [?] her to go to a nunnery. Unfortunately, she died anyway. Also, Hamlet and Polonius both died trying to protect a woman. Polonius was trying to protect Ophelia from Hamlet, just as Hamlet was trying to protect his mother from Claudius. [Nice point] Both men were also loyal to a king--Polonius to Claudius, and Hamlet to his father. Here again, both kings were killed. 4. Polonius and Hamlet also had their differences. While Polonius was loyal to Claudius, Hamlet was not loyal or even respectful to him. Hamlet knew Claudius was a murderer and Polonius was not even suspicious of King Hamlet’s death. Although they both died, Polonius and Hamlet[']s murders were different.

Patient teaching plan Essay

During a clinical rotation we come into contact with many patients, from many different backgrounds, with many different disease processes which effect their systems. Each patient has their own manifestations, of signs and symptoms, along with courses of action which are taken to best meet their individual needs. One of the tools used when caring for a patient is education. CDC.gov states â€Å"A well-informed patient is more likely to cooperate if the patient understands† (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2011). Educating a patient allows a patient to be more involved in their care, and there is a greater possibility for compliance once the patient knows what to do, and why. As student nurses one of the ways we educate our patients is through use of a Patient teaching plan. The teaching plan incorporates general knowledge of the patient’s diagnosis, disease process, medication, and treatment. One of the patients I had the opportunity to care for was a 64 year old female which went by the initials E,M who was diagnosed with multiple system atrophy, anoxic brain injury, hypertension, dysphagia, hypothyroidism, and clostridium difficile. When looking into the condition of the patient, we find that the reason she presented with many of the signs and symptoms that she did is because of her medical diagnosis, and the disease process. With manifestations such as loose foul smelling stool, and hyperactive bowel sounds for clostridium difficile; comatose state, along with quadriparesis, apraxia, and rigidity for anoxic brain injury. While other parts of her medical diagnosis may be associated with, or related to another existing diagnosis. For example one of the symptoms of multiple system atrophy is difficulty swallowing, which is known as dysphagia which she has been diagnosed with as a medical diagnosis. An important aspect of the teaching plan is to also educate the patient on medication, and treatment of the disease. It is important to  emphasize to the patient that some of the medications they are taking may not be curative, but used as prophylaxis, and for symptom management. Some of the medications my patient is currently prescribed are; Midodrine, Famotidine, Levothyroxine, Vancomycin, Clonazepam, and Psyllium. Each of these medications have a specific purpose in managing the disease process and symptoms that my patient exhibits. When we look at Vancomycin we know that the patient is taking this medicine for treatment for their clostridium difficile. With this drug there are many facts that the patient needs to know; such as being aware of dosing, associated risks like issues with hearing, and toxicity to the body. While drugs like Levothyroxine have a series of side effects which differ from the others, ranging in severity. It is associated with weight loss, hair loss, irregular breathing, to signs of over dose; like change or loss in consciousness, sudden slurring of speech, and sudden loss of coordination. It can be said that all drugs have side effects, but it is of utmost importance to teach the patient about things which can alter their lifestyle, or leave them debilitated, or dead. In order to have an effective teaching plan, one must look at the patient as a complete being, and not by just their disease process. Religion, and culture must be considered when developing the teaching plan, if things such as diet, or practices work contrary to their personal beliefs. Other aspects such as the patient’s education level, and cognitive ability are important things that must be considered; if not considered you can be wasting a lot of time and energy, using ineffective methods because the patient may not be able to understand you, or they may even speak a foreign language. Family is another part to be considered during teaching, they can be an added help or hindrance causing noncompliance especially when it comes to other factors; such as age, and if the person is independent for decision making. Although every teaching plan is different, and received by each patient in their own way, they are important for getting precise information across, and give patient’s information that is needed to empower themselves, and be better caregivers to themselves. Data: (1 point) Demographics: Age: 66 Sex: F Education: High School Religion: Catholic Culture: New Mexican / Hispanic Occupation: Housewife Educational Needs: (2 points) What does the client know? She knows that she is sick, and in the hospital, and experiencing many different signs, and symptoms associated with her disease, such as diarrhea. She also knows she is taking a medicine to help her with that. She also knows that her blood pressure has periods of it dropping. What does the client need to know? The client needs know that the name of the medicine she is taking for clostridium difficile is Vancomycin 250mg capsule four times a day. She also needs to know that she has to follow the protocol when taking this medication. Meaning she has to take it as directed by the Doctor; not missing a dose, and to complete the medication. Not completing the medication, and taking it as directed, can cause resistance of the organism to the medication. She also needs to know that she will need to have labs done to check if therapeutic levels have been obtained, or toxic levels. What does the client need to know? She also needs to know that she is on midodrine for hypotentsion, even though she has a diagnosis of hypertension. She needs to be aware that midodrine can cause hypertension, and headaches, fainting, and dizziness, and that she should notify the doctor if she has any of those symptoms. Teaching Plan: (3 points) Teaching objectives: Teach patient about importance of taking medicine, and completing it. Teach that she may be taking medication long term Content: Medication, How it should be taken, side effects, what to do if side effects occur Time Frame: The patient will be able to tell me the medication she is taking, and how she is supposed to take it by the end of the teaching lesson. The patient will be on the Vancomycin x14 days as per M.D, then will be tested upon completion of medication to see if it works. Stool samples will be collected for testing, to know if she is now positive or negative for clostridium difficile. The patient will start midodrine 10mg as needed, up to three doses a day for hypotension. Teaching Strategies: (2 points) Who is involved: The Nurse is involved doing the teaching, to the patient and her husband, since her husband helps her with care. When: This will be done  before discharge, and upon starting medication. The optimal time for this will be in the morning so that this information cause be fresh in her mind Where: This will take place at the patient’s bedside. How: This will be done in a private way with the family of the patient present for support. Instruction, and demonstration will Evaluation: (2 points)  Client response or feedback: I understand that I am taking Vancomycin to counter my c-diff. I also understand that once the medication is started, that I need to keep taking it until I complete it. I am aware that I will need to be tested to make sure I am free of this infection. I will inform my Doctor if I experience any kind of alleregic reaction, or if I begin to get redness all over my body. I will report any headache, blurred vision, or dizziness when taking midodrine. I will also purchase a blood pressure machine to check before I take this medication. Were objectives met? Describe. Yes. The patient is clearly able to state why she is taking the medication. She also understands side effects of the medications, and voices that the M.D must be called. What is the next step / new plan? I will teach the patient the importance of washing hands to prevent the spread of infection. Review Of The Bacchae, The Aeneid, And Book 15 Of...

Within the societies of ancient Greece and Rome, there was a plethora of regimes, Caesars, and empires at the helm of everyday life. The political sphere encountered in the daily routines of ancient Greeks and Romans gave influence to the multitude of literary works produced in these societies. The works of Euripides, Virgil, and Ovid gave a vehicle for these writers to infuse commentary about the politics of the day. Politics is how groups of people organize making decisions that affect the individuals contained within said groups. The Bacchae, the Aeneid, and Book 15 of Metamorphoses all contain commentary concerning politics within their content. In Euripides’ the Bacchae, the city of Thebes is shown to have a system of political inheritance as Pentheus is given control over the city by his grandfather Cadmus, the founder of the city. The god Dionysus is also a grandson of Cadmus, yet is not chosen to be the heir to Thebes, which creates a rivalry between Dionysus and Penth eus. Pentheus does not allow Dionysus into the city of Thebes or give recognition to Dionysus at all. Dionysus and Pentheus both wish to establish their own political rule over the city of Thebes. Pentheus attempts to rule Thebes in an Apollonian fashion. The women brought to Thebes by Dionysus are put under arrest at the order of Pentheus, due to the drunken partying they were having due to Dionysus’ powers. The women’s party went against the social order enforced by the city of Thebes, and Dionysus
